@hannibalbbc, I have very big nipples that I have been rather self-conscious if, moreso when I was single, hubby loves them. Are they sort of like big labia, where men really like them and us women are too busy being self-conscious to realize it?!?! I had one boyfriend who teased that they were big enough to dial a phone with, which I took as total mockery. He had no clue (or perhaps no desire) about how to make me feel beautiful. How true it is, that words can leave deeper wounds than injuries to the flesh, and more lasting scars too. Kind of counterintuitive then that forgiveness of the transgressor, and then acceptance of ourselves (not another's validation, not what someone else thinks of us, but we think of ourselves) is the only real salve I've found that works for me.
